Tomorrow myself Dean and Maya-Rose will be playing tracks from the album at Bunbury’s CWA Hall over a spot of afternoon tea. It’s a low key affair and will be completely unplugged. We’ve been asked to play by some of the guys from the Ben Zabbia band who we played with a few weeks back at XWray cafe in Freo. The afternoon is in aid of the presentation of a book that one of the guys Dad’s is launching called ‘Feel Good Now’.
If you’re in town and fancy popping in for a spot of tea I’m sure you’ll be welcome.
Place: CWA Hall Wellington St Bunbury WA6232

Hi folks,
Here’s a preview of the new album’s title track ‘Lesson One’ out next week.
11 August 2011
Hey Folks,
Just to let you know the digital release of my album ‘Lesson One’ is happening. The date is set for tomorrow but it could take a few days to reach the major download stores and Spotify etc. I will keep you up to date and will also put links on this site for those that wish to buy a copy. You can also buy direct from me if you wish. You will need a paypal account to do so and can email the payment to my paypal account using my email address. I will then email the album and artwork to you in what ever your desired format is. This method is obviously a little more fiddly than buying elsewhere but those that are savvy shouldn’t have a problem. If you would to buy direct from me just contact me through this website and we’ll take it from there. Otherwise follow the links to itunes, Amazon etc when posted.
With regards to hard copies unfortunately this is a luxury I can’t afford at the moment but I will be printing copies myself with my snazzy printer with a view to sell at gigs. If and when the opportunity ever arises I will print and arrange hard copies for distribution. We’ll see how we go hey.
Peace

It gives me great pleasure to finally share some of the music I’ve been working on for my forthcoming album ‘Lesson one’ which will be available to download soon from my website. I’ve wanted to move on from my last project ‘Birds that fly and other things’ since before it was released and now sharing this track with you I’m beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I’ve seen every track on my coming album through from the seed of an idea to the final result and in-between every mic placed, every instrument played (apart from the drums) and note sung has been my doing. I’m not a trained engineer and have little idea about the science of sound so have had to go through a process of trial and error through out. Also with there being a zero budget behind this project I have had to work around limitations all the way and have raised funds for any equipment used in the recording process so as you can imagine I feel a great sense of achievement finally seeing the finished product ahead.
The album is very much a journey in which I reflect on my life and experiences to date and I’ve tried hard to share my head space and my true selfwith the colours and textures I’ve managed to produce. I really hope you like it and can find it in your heart/pocket to buy a copy when it’s released and aid me in making more music to share with you.
This particular track is without doubt one of my favourites and it has my hair on end every time I hear it. I can only hope does the same magic on you folks.
Enjoy!

It’s just dawned on me that it’ll be 2 years since the launch of this site at the end of September! It’s gone so quick I missed it’s birthday. I just thought I’d say a massive thanks to the folks at Dusted Design for building such a superb website for me and I’m putting it’s birthday in my calender right now so this years won’t be missed.

We’re getting there folks but a little slower than I expected. It would seem my PC doesn’t like producing albums and is being extremely temperamental. It won’t let me bounce my tracks out to be mastered but I’m gradually coaxing them out. I’m also fitting things in around busy schedules but the release is eminent I promise. You just don’t know how eager I am to get this finished folks!!!
Peace x

So I’ve been tweeking for the last week or so and have had learned loads from Russell Collins who’s kindly let me listen to my tracks through the nice speakers in his studio. It’s made the world of difference and I think I’ve done all I can and am now waiting to run my mixes by Russ’s well trained ears before getting the low down on the mastering process then I can put this baby to bed.
Man it’s not been easy folks! My PC is an old piece of **** and crashes every 5mins, and before you say “You should get a Mac” do you think I’d be trying to record an album on an old PC I was donated by my sister with 10year old software out of choice? NO! It’s holding on by a thread with the layered harmonies etc but I’m almost there now. I’m hoping I can sell a few copies to make the next album a bit easier. I’ve done the sums and figure even if I can sell a measly 100 copies I should be able to buy some much needed speakers for my studio. Ha! a studio without studio monitors…..who’d have thought it hey?! Anyhoo, we’ll see hey. You gotta like it if you’re gonna buy it. Much love to you folks and I can’t wait to lay this one on ya!
