29 October 2018

Welcome to part 4 of my video song blog in which I’m taking a journey through songs I’ve written over time starting from the early 90s somewhere. This one featured on my first album ‘Birds that fly and other things’ but was actually around long before that release in 2008.

Hope you like, once again feel free to comment here on my YouTube page, what ever your thoughts.

Thanks

Kris Buckle’s video song blog part 10 #krisbucklesongblog

03 June 2013

Hey guy’s,
Welcome to part 10 of my video song blog where I’m journeying through songs I’ve written over the years. This one’s from the early 2000/late 90s. It’s called Nu-Fella and I guess has a Beck vibe going on. Anyway, hope you enjoy and make sure you grab a glass to toast the 10th episode with me:)

Update

24 April 2013

I’ve managed to make some sense of my studio gear that arrived from the UK last week after our move to WA so I’m going to get back to the song blog posts asap.

I do unfortunately have some stuff I need to repair which may hold me up a bit but the soldering iron is out and wire trimmers are at the ready. Work on my EP will resume in good time.

Kris Buckle song blog part 7 ‘Waiting in Line’ #krisbucklesongblog

11 April 2013

Hey guys,

Sorry about the delay with this one but between moving house and destroying my laptop I’ve been a bit tied up. This track is called ‘Waiting in Line’ and was written around 1997. When I performed this track at college we had a special guest by the name of Bernard Purdie who’s recorded drums with the likes of Aretha Franklin, Gil Scott-Heron, Isaac Hayes, Cat Stevens,The Rolling Stones and Miles Davis among many others. Need I say more, the guys had an amazing career. He sat in on our performances and judged each of us.

He gave he’s honest opinion on people’s work and some of it wasn’t nice but he loved this track and got up and played it with me. It was a real moment for me, I have the recording on cassette and the guy has an exceptional groove without doubt!!!

Thanks

Kris Buckle video blog No:2 ‘She’s the Pain’ #krisbucklesongblog

06 March 2013

Here’s blog 2 folk’s,

I think this would come after the first one time wise?? Judging on who it’s about I think it would be around my final years at school so I reckon 1993ish………Yep I’m that young. Around that time I was listening to Hendrix, The Doors, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell among other stuff and obviously mainstream bands were Pearl Jam and so on so I guess that infected my writing a bit.

This track had a nice bass line I’d written for it in an Omar: ‘There’s Nothing Like This’ kinda style. Perhaps sometime I’ll get someone to sit in and play bass?? Perhaps sing the harmonies.

Anyway like I said on the previous blog please feel free to comment, I don’t seem to be able to generate comments……not even bad ones so tell me it’s crap if you think so:) It’s be nice to get some feedback.

I’ll keep firing them out though, damn there’s plenty of songs in my back catalogue so this could go on for a while. I’m looking to putting these tracks out there whatever the case as it’s nice to document them together for the first time.

Hope you enjoy it. The next will be a track I had named ‘Country Queen’ Country as in out in the sticks not the music genre. I think I may change it to ‘Tired Eye’s’ though which is one of the lyrics in the chorus.

Cheers

Kris Buckle video blog No:1 Flies in the Mirror #krisbucklesongblog

02 March 2013

Hey folks,

This is the first in a number of video blogs I plan to upload documenting songs I’ve written since I first started. This track is called ‘Flies in the Mirror’ which I wrote when I was about 16. Hope you like it, feel free to comment. I’ll try to upload every week to keep a steady flow. The next track will be ‘She’s the Pain’, no guessing what that’s about.

Cheers

Been working on lyrics for new tracks and it’s coming on nicely but I’ve had a cold for the last few weeks!! Wanted to post a few of them for you but I’m too blocked up and have a sore throat so I’ll have to wait till it clears up. Keep an eye out.
