Shiny New Website

24 September 2009

I’m diggin’ my shiny new web site. I guess you’ve had a little look around? Nice hey! Dusted have done an amazing job on both the website and the album cover and I’d most definitely recommend them. They’ve also been very patient with my deliberation over photos so thanks guys you’re amazing!!!! I sat and thought for some time what to blog about here and have come to the conclusion that I should just speak my mind. There’s no right or wrong way to blog…is there?

So, whats on my mind? music mostly, I’ve been preparing for the album launch on Monday 28th of Sept tonight. I restrung one of my old guitars so I could use 2 on the night and have one in standard tuning and one in the EBEEBE tuning I use to avoid de tuning through the show but the guitar just doesn’t sound as nice as my main one. It’s an Art and Lutherie with an LR. Baggs sound hole pick up. It’s a cheapy and does sound good with the pick up. The problem is I’m spoilt as my main guitar a Maton EBG808 Artist just sounds great plugged in. Don’t get me wrong I know it’s not the daddy of guitars but with that little mic inside it really does the trick. I’ll see how I get along but I’m thinking I might just de tune and re tune as I go along. It’s all good hey!

It was suggested to me that I should write some sort of instrumental for the show, something to wow people with to start the show then slip into a song. Although I was unsure about the idea I spent a while putting a piece together then tonight have decided NO. It’s just not my bag anymore. There was a time when I was into guitar twiddly diddlyness but I get so much more out of singing or hearing a good song these days. I’ll leave the acrobats to someone else for now I think…….although there may be a tiny twiddle here and there… it’s all about balance hey, yin and yan, so true in so many areas. Anyway I’m rambling now. Until the next blog. I hope you enjoy the site and the album.

Take care

Kris

Can’t begin to tell everyone how very proud I am of Kris – he is a very dedicated professional and deserves success! The website looks brilliant and I love the artwork – it actually reflects Kris and his music. Sorry to go on but that’s what Mum’s do!
