OK Ladies and Gents,
Here’s week 3’s song. It calls itself ‘Shadows’ and began life Tuesday morning before work at about 730am. I often have a little strum before work. It was the verse chords and melody that came first and have to say I got a bit happy when I stumbled on these. Simple stuff I know but they gave me goose bumps so I had to make something out of them for this weeks song. As always with having such a short while to write and record these tracks I often wonder where they might go if I spent more time on them but then that’s the beauty of this challenge I’ve imposed upon myself really. So, you’ll find the lyrics below which to me are about waking up to yourself and wondering why you hadn’t done it sooner but you can interpret them as you will. Perhaps I should keep their meaning to myself in future and leave it up to your imagination? Before you listen I wanted to ask a favour. I want to start uploading these tracks on youtube but need some slide-shows or footage to put them to. If any of you would be up for creating something for me to upload or you could go the full hog and upload it yourself that’d be amazing!!
‘Shadows’
I guess I was feeling good – shadows moving over. Guess I was lost in time.
Why was I the last to know – I could have been there sooner. Was I the last know.
That it wasn’t hard – to let you go. Shadows moving over into the dark – you left behind. Shadow moving over into the dark.
Why wouldn’t I understand – you killing without eating. I was a broken man.
I wish I had known in time – I could have been there sooner. Why was I the last to know.
That it wasn’t hard – to let you go. Shadows moving over into the dark – you left behind. Shadows moving over into the dark.
Fear’s gone – where you left it – gone. Fear’s gone – where you left it – alone – now you’re moving on.
And it wasn’t hard – to let you go. Shadows moving over into the dark.
Thanks
